On the 20th September, some brave, kind and just darn incredible people (you?!) will be jumping out a plane to achieve two things: raise money for charity, break a word record. Brilliant.

Knit, knit, knit, knit, KNITTING!!!

knit toys for kids with cancer

Children's Cancer Recovery Project sends toys & books to thousands of children in hospital and hospices three times a year.



To help keep this going, we need lots of toys, which is where you in! We would love you to send us knitted hand & finger puppets. They are reasonably simple to do, and perfect for the children because they can be used in role play and by play therapists as part of the kids' treatment.



There is a pattern for a knitted hedgehog puppet on our website (courtesy of Betty, one of our regular knitters) or you can knit to your own pattern. You can also- if you like- set up a knitting club... Like a Stitch & Bitch, but with an added Enrich?!

We know from speaking with nurses & paediatricians that the handmade toys offer extra comfort because the kids know strangers care for them too. Then the world seems a better place.

We want everyone to like us!

Our Facebook page makes us look sad and feel lonely. Please help.

We know that Facebook is really important for us as a charity- it could help us reach people with cancer, help us show people how to prevent cancer, boost our overall fundraising potential... And make everyone feel good thanks to an active & supportive online community.



But sadly, our current page has only a couple of hundred 'likes' which is a little demoralising. And frustratingly, more difficult for us to reach and get liked by new and other people.



So, please help us by liking us, and showing us how to get others to too. We do not have a budget and resources are limited, so all hands on deck approach would be hugely appreciated.
