By helping to organise a Cancer Research UK event you will help to increase cancer awareness within your community and raise significant funds for Cancer Research UK's life-saving work to find new and better cures for this disease.
What will I be doing?
Building a calendar of events throughout the year to maximise activity in the City of London area
Be responsible for managing the logistics of these events, including securing a venue, liaising with the venue, ensuring you have enough materials on the day, and that you are displaying Cancer Research UK branding.
You will also be responsible for recruiting and training any additional support you need in the day. Cancer Research UK will be able to assist with this.
What support will I be given?
You will be supported by a local member of Cancer Research UK staff who will meet with you at the start of your role to give you a thorough induction into Cancer Research UK, the team and the role and they will keep in regular contact with you to ensure that you have all of the information and resources you need.
What benefits can I expect?
The satisfaction of making a vital difference to the work of Cancer Research UK
The enjoyment of meeting new people and being part of our passionate team
The opportunity to develop new and existing skills, such as interpersonal and communication skills, influencing ability and fundraising techniques.
The experience of volunteering for one of the UK’s leading charities
